Failure of communication costs MDU £6mn

The Medical Defence Union, having paid out £6mn in settlement of 213 family planning errors over the last decade, blames failure of communication as the main problem. ‘Patients need to know the risks of contraceptive method or procedure, to understand what they are being told, feel free to ask questions and to be clear on their follow-up arrangements.’
