VARNEY LAUNCHES REINSURANCE BUSINESS

Varney Insurance Agency has launched a reinsurance operation, which will offer alternative risk transfer for a client base in North America. Tod Austin has been appointed chief operating officer of Bermuda-based Varney Re. Austin was previously Atlantic region president at Memic Group, where he helped the company develop its loss control and claims development capabilities. Founded in 1980 in Maine, Varney Insurance Agency serves clients and retail brokers across the US and North America. It offers access to insurance for individuals and businesses and wholesale insurance for insurance agents.
