START-UP MOSAIC LAUNCHES FIRST PRODUCT LINE
Specialty insurance start-up Mosaic has launched its first product, with the creation of a war, terrorism and political violence
team in London and the US to begin writing risks globally. The team will underwrite a range of standalone terrorism products,
such as terrorism and sabotage, third-party liability, strikes, riots, aviation and marine war, among others. The insurer
has appointed Quentin Prebble as chairman of war, terrorism and political violence. Prebble was previously global head of
marine at Ironshore’s Pembroke syndicate. In addition, the carrier has named Jamie Oliver and Heather Blaser as senior war,
terrorism and political violence underwriters. Oliver was previously a senior client adviser at Marsh in New York, while Blaser
joins from Hamilton Insurance Group, where she was a war and terrorism underwriter. Mosaic will write a maximum of $50m for
any one risk and will offer $250m through syndicated capacity via its US operation.
