LLOYDS TO REOPEN UNDERWRITING ROOM IN MAY

Lloyd’s has announced it is planning to reopen the Underwriting Room on May 17. In a statement Lloyd’s told Insurance Day it had considered the UK government guidance carefully and was now able to confirm its plans for reopening the Lloyd’s Underwriting Room and corporation offices. “Our plan is to reopen the underwriting room on May 17 (the government’s Stage 3) for those in the market who need to be in. To manage capacity and ensure we are Covid-secure, we will once again apply a class of business rota during the week and we will confirm further details closer to the time,” Lloyd’s said. “All being well, we will look to further relax restrictions and increase footfall in line with expected updated government guidance from June 21," it continued.
