ALLIANT HIRES MARSH'S GUERRERO TO EXPAND ENERGY BUSINESS

US broking firm Alliant Insurance Services has hired Jessie Guerrero as senior vice-president, energy and marine. Alliant said Guerrero's appointment would add significant expertise to its power and downstream energy practice. Located in Alliant’s Houston office, Guerrero will manage the placement of operational and construction coverages and provide strategic advice to power, liquified natural gas, downstream and energy clients. Before joining Alliant, Guerrero was managing director in the energy practice at Marsh USA. Meanwhile, the California-based broker has appointed Derek Whipple as senior vice-president of energy and marine to expand that business on the West Coast. He is based in San Francisco. With more than 20 years of broking experience in the power-related energy sector, he joins from Aon, where he served for six years as managing director.
