STURDY TO ACQUIRE SSL INSURANCE BROKERS

Specialist marine broker SSL Insurance Brokers is being acquired by its founder Andrew Sturdy. Newly formed holding company Sturdy AGI Holdings has received regulatory approval to acquire the entire share capital of SSL Insurance Brokers from Oneglobal. It is expected that the acquisition will be completed by the end of February 2021. Upon completion, SSL will be renamed Sturdy Insurance Brokers. Sturdy had sold the business to private equity firm JC Flowers nearly three years ago. Established in 2003, SSL specialises in marine as well as broking other classes including cash in transit, financial institutions and political risk. The business was acquired, along with broker Endeavour Insurance Services, by JC Flowers in 2018. The merged business was subsequently rebranded as Oneglobal.
