WR BERKLEY APPOINTS BROSNAN TO LEAD LLOYD’S MANAGING AGENCY

US commercial lines writer WR Berkley has appointed David Brosnan as chief executive of WR Berkley Syndicate Management, the Lloyd’s managing agent for WR Berkley Syndicate 1967. He succeeds Alastair Blades, who will retain his post as the syndicate’s chief underwriting officer. With 35 years of industry experience, Brosnan joins from CNA Hardy, where he has served as president of international and chief executive from February 2014 to September 2020. Prior to CNA, he served with Ace and Chubb. Berkley president and chief executive W Robert Berkley said the decoupling of the two posts “provides each of David and Alastair the opportunity for even greater focus” and enable the underwriting team to “maximize its capabilities and expansion opportunities in this expanding market.”
