OHIO APPOINTS FRENCH AS INSURANCE DIRECTOR
Ohio Governor Mike DeWine has appointed former Ohio Supreme Court justice Judith French as director of the state’s Department
of Insurance. DeWine made the appointment after French lost re-election to the state’s high court in November. In addition
to the insurance post, French was also a contender for the open seat on the state’s Public Utilities Commission. French is
a “solid, good, smart, dedicated public servant” with “some background” in insurance, said DeWine. Previous director of insurance
Jillian Froment stepped down last summer and was replaced by Tynesia Dorsey on an interim basis.
