Med-mal rising at 7% a year
The costs of medical negligence in Britain have risen by about 7% each year for the last decade, to an estimated £84mn in
1998. This is according to analysis of NHS claims records to determine trends in numbers and costs by health economists and
reported in the
British Medical Journal
of 3 June.
