AEGIS LONDON TARGETS 27% GROWTH IN 2021

Specialty energy insurer Aegis London is to increase its underwriting capacity by 27% in 2021. On a gross premium basis, Aegis capacity will rise from £712m in 2020 to £918m for the 2021 underwriting year. The increase will be spread across all lines of business, through Lloyd’s and under the company’s online quote-and-bind platform Opal. David Croom-Johnson, Aegis London’s managing director, said the insurer has been in the top quartile of Lloyd’s syndicates since 2010. “2021 should be a year of real opportunities for the Lloyd’s market and we are in an excellent position to take full advantage of them,” he said.
