Judicial review of decision on special needs

R (JG) v Southwark London Borough Council [2020] EWHC 1989 (Admin)

In the case outlined here the Administrative Court considered whether the conclusions of a social care needs assessment for a young adult who was severely disabled, had gone beyond disagreement with the views of experts and carers. The court found that certain material pieces of evidence had not been taken into account when the assessor had reached his conclusions, and that as a result the assessment was unlawful.
