No art 2 Inquest required

R (Iroko) v HM Senior Coroner For Inner London South and Another [2020] EWHC 1753 (Admin)

The Administrative Court has held that in the circumstances of the case outlined below, an inquest that complied with the procedural obligation in ECHR art 2 was not required. In this instance a hospital patient who died after a cardiac arrest where, after having one round of cardiopulmonary resuscitation, the registrar leading the resuscitation team had taken a clinical decision that further resuscitation attempts would be inappropriate.
