WR BERKLEY NAMES JOYCE AS PRESIDENT OF NAUTILUS INSURANCE UNIT
US commercial lines writer WR Berkley has appointed Thomas Joyce as president of its Nautilus Insurance Group excess and surplus lines subsidiary. He succeeds Thomas Kuzma, who has been named chairman. The appointments take effect on January 1. With more than 35 years of industry experience, Joyce joined Nautilus in 2015 as senior vice-president of claims before being named chief underwriting officer in 2018 and executive vice-president last year. With 44 years of industry experience, Kuzma joined Nautilus as an underwriter at its launch in 1986 and was named chief underwriting officer in 1994 and president in 1997. As chairman, he will help to further relationships with distribution partners, develop business opportunities and mentor Nautilus team members.
