Super typhoon Goni smashed into the Philippines over the weekend bringing 140mph winds. Goni made landfall as a super typhoon at Catanduanes island on Sunday before weakening as it crossed the island of Luzon and the country’s capital Manila. Goni is the most powerful storm to hit the Philippines since Typhoon Haiyan in 2013, which killed more than 6,000 people. The typhoon is the strongest storm record so far this year.
