EU parliament rejects ban on ‘meat’ terms for veggie food

Parliament follows 2017 CJEU decision, however,to bar ‘yoghurt-style’ and ‘cheese alternative’ terms from being used onplant-based dairy products

MEPs have voted against a proposal to bar plant-based andmeat-free products from using terms like ‘burger’ and ‘steak’, rejecting theidea that the terms are exclusive for meat-based products.
