BILSBY TO LEAD ERS

Motor specialist insurer ERS has appointed former Talbot chief executive Peter Bilsby to lead the business. He will take up the role on November 1, succeeding Ian Parker, who is leaving the business. ERS, which underwrites through syndicate 218 at Lloyd’s, said it is looking to expand its platform and enter specialist commercial insurance lines without losing its focus on the motor segment. Bilsby was global head of specialty at AIG, where he was part of the international leadership team. Before then, he was chief executive of Talbot and head of the insurance segment for Validus Group. The new move comes alongside the appointment of former Amlin finance chief Richard Hextall as group chief financial officer (CFO). Hextall was the group CFO of Amlin for 18 years until 2017.
