ALLIANZ IN THE UK APPOINTS NEW CHAIRMAN

Allianz Holdings plc, the UK arm of Allianz SE, has appointed Paul Evans as non-executive chairman. He will join the board as chairman elect on November 1, 2020, taking over from current chair, Rick Hudson, on his retirement in April 2021. Evans, who joins from Axa, will also chair Allianz Insurance plc and LV= General Insurance Group, acquired by Allianz in January. During his distinguished career, Evans spent 13 years with PricewaterhouseCoopers and 17 years at Axa, where he held a number of senior roles, including group chief executive of Axa UK. He is also a former chairman of the Association of British Insurers (ABI).
