Pilots at greater risk from cataracts
Researchers have warned that airline pilots could face an increased risk of eye damage because they are exposed to cosmic
radiation. The research, published in the journal Archives of Ophthalmology, found that commercial pilots were three times
more likely than normal to develop cataracts. The study also found that the longer the men had worked as pilots, the more
likely they were to have developed cataracts.
