NEWRE APPOINTS HERRENPOTH AS UNDERWRITING CHIEF

Munich Re subsidiary NewRe has appointed Dirk Herrenpoth as chief underwriting officer (CUO) for its property/casualty business. His appointment follows the recent departure of Artur Klinger, who moved to Everest Re as head of continental Europe. Herrenpoth has spent more than 20 years within the Munich Re Group, where he most recently served as head of Great Lakes UK branch, as well as leading Munich Re’s facultative and corporate business in the UK. He will begin the new role on July 1 and will be based in Zurich. NewRe chief executive, Renate Strasser, is also set to leave the firm, having recently been announced as the new specialty chief underwriting officer for Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty.
