TRUST RE CEASES UNDERWRITING IN MALAYSIA AND MOROCCO

Trust International Insurance and Reinsurance Company (Trust Re) has announced it will cease underwriting from its offices in Morocco and Labuan, Malaysia. The Bahrain-based reinsurer also said it will cease underwriting facultative aviation and liability lines of business. The changes were part of strategic plans to centralise Trust Re’s activities in its Bahrain head office, which will see it implement a restructured operational model focused on “profitability, cost management and maximising core strengths”. Trust Re reaffirmed its “commitment to continue providing the same high-level services and prompt responses to its valued customers in Asia, Africa and in all other lines of business”. In March 2020, Trust Re closed its branch in Cyprus.
