Managing a charterparty through the Covid-19 pandemic

Now, James Mackay, of The Swedish Club, gives a P&I Club perspective on the Covid-19 pandemic and the impact on charterparties

The World Health Organization (WHO) classified Covid-19 as a pandemic on 11 March 2020. In response to the outbreak and spread of the virus, ship operators are likely to encounter a number of legal issues in relation to charterparties as a result of the measures that are being imposed by national authorities.
