Fall in significant railway accidents in EU

The number of significant railway accidents in the EU fell by a quarter between 2010 and 2018, according to the European Railway Agency (ERA). There were 1,721 accidents in 2018, 571 fewer than in 2010. The number of significant railway accidents fell between 2010 and 2018, with the exception of two increases in 2014 and 2017.
