International update: February 2020

There have been two meetings of the IASB since the last edition of WAR. Together they covered over 20 agenda items and 17 different projects. This month’s update covers the key areas that were discussed, starting with those that were only covered in December (Financial Instruments with Characteristics of Equity), then moving on to projects that were on the agenda for both months (Subsidiaries that are SMEs, Business Combinations under Common Control, phase two of IBOR reform and amendments to the insurance standard, IFRS 17), and ending with those subjects discussed only in the January meeting (the Disclosure Initiative and a decision on a new project on provisions).
