US regulatory and case law developments during 2019

It has been another busy year for lawyers and businesses in the US. In this article, Harold Adrion provides some in-depth commentary on key legislative updates and cases of interest from the tax courts.

In 2019 the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) issued significant guidance dealing with the Tax and Job Cuts Act 2017 (Public Law No 115-97, “the TCJA”) changes. As will be noted some of the guidance attempts to clarify and fix significant issues in the hastily enacted 2017 tax legislation.
