TYPHOON MITAG THREATENS FURTHER LOSSES IN CHINA AND JAPAN

Typhoon Mitag has become the latest storm to threaten China and Japan, with the potential to affect millions of people during the coming week. Schools and financial markets closed in north-east Taiwan as the storm approached, with China’s south-east coastline also at risk before the storm follows its expected path towards Korea and Japan. World Rugby said it is monitoring Mitag for any potential impact on the France v US World Cup clash scheduled for October 2 in Fukuoka, situated along the northern coast of Kyushu. Fukuoka is the island’s most populous city with around 2.5 million people living in the Fukuoka metropolitan area.
