STORM’S FORWARD MOVEMENT TO SLOW THROUGH TODAY

Forecasters expect Dorian’s westward progress to slow over the northern Bahamas through Monday before the storm pivots to the northwest early Tuesday. It remains uncertain when this pivot will take place, and this will be critical for the US East Coast. Florida remains braced for potential impacts and hurricane watches and warnings are in effect for much of Florida’s coast north of Palm Beach. There is an increasing likelihood of strong winds and storm surge along the coasts of Georgia, South and North Carolina later this week.
