GALLAGHER ACQUIRES UNIVERSITY SERVICES BUSINESS OF GARNETT-POWERS

US broking group Arthur J Gallagher & Co has acquired the university services business of Garnett-Powers & Associates, a California-based benefits broker and consultant. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. The university services business offers medical, dental, vision, life, AD&D and disability insurance to university postdoctoral and visiting scholars, and health insurance to university students. Steve Johnson and his team will continue to operate from their current location in Mission Viejo, reporting to Norbert Chung, head of Gallagher’s western US region employee benefit consulting and broking business.
