AIG’S BLACKBOARD INSURANCE UNIT NAMES MIZZI AS HEAD OF UNDERWRITING

The Blackboard Insurance commercial unit of global re/insurer AIG has appointed John Mizzi as head of growth and underwriting to oversee its expanding use of data, analytics and technology. Mizzi succeeds Ed Pulktenis, who has been named to Blackboard’s newly created post of head of machine-augmented solutions. Mizzi joins from US commercial insurer CNA Financial, where he had led commercial field operations since 2016. His stint at CNA followed a 25-year career at Chubb that culminated with his post as senior vice-president and Eastern territory field underwriting officer.
