AIG NAMES MCELROY AS HEAD OF NORTH AMERICA GENERAL INSURANCE
Global re/insurer AIG has appointed David McElroy as president and chief executive of North America general insurance operations.
Previously president and chief executive of the group’s Lexington Insurance unit, he will continue to report to Peter Zaffino,
AIG’s chief executive of general insurance and global chief operating officer. In the new post, McElroy will oversee Lexington,
AIG Risk Management, financial lines, Validus Specialty, Western World, Glatfelter, programmes, and underwriting and field
operations in the US, Canada and Bermuda. Prior to joining AIG last October, McElroy served as executive chairman of Arch
Insurance Group and vice-chairman of Arch Worldwide Insurance Group. Lou Levinson has been named to succeed McElroy as president
and chief executive of Lexington. Levinson had been head of casualty at Lexington.
