LONDON CYBER UNDERWRITERS NEAR DEAL ON WAR EXCLUSIONS

London’s top cyber insurers have made progress in dealing with the problem of war exclusions and are nearing agreement on wording that could include smaller events caused by state-backed attacks, Insurance Day reported. Cyber underwriters are looking to cover a simple attack by a state actor, such as the 2014 hack of Sony Pictures by an organisation working on behalf of the North Korean government. They are also looking for ways to cover entities affected even in more significant acts of cyber warfare, particularly if those entities are in third countries.
