Major prison sentence for fraudster over contempt of court

A defendant who falsely claimed in excess of £250,000 against his employer for personal injury has been ordered to repay £2,500 in costs and has been sentenced to 16 months’ imprisonment. The sentence is one of the longest handed down for contempt of court proceedings.
