Access any news website and you will see international trade sanctions making headlines in both the politics and the business pages. At the time of writing, there were measures targeting Russian oligarchs, Venezuelan oil companies and Iranian shipping companies, all of which create real challenges for businesses engaged in international trade. This article looks at some of the challenges, as well as some of the practical steps which businesses can take.
