Section 938 of the Dodd-Frank Act finally called into action: Moody’s and the “Combo Notes”

On August 28 2018, Moody’s settled with the Securities and Exchange Commission for a sum of $16.25 million. This was done to settle charges involving “internal control failures and failing to clearly define and consistently apply credit rating symbols”[1].
