Ubbi and Anori (Minors) v Ubbi [2018] EWHC 1396 (Ch)

Prior to the decision in Ubbi and Anori (Minors) v Ubbi [2018] EWHC 1396 (Ch) there had been very few actions brought by infant children for financial provision under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975. In this case, the court was asked to determine whether such an order should be granted pursuant to Section 2 of the 1975 Act. In her judgment, Master Shuman provided a useful reminder of the law on claims for financial provision and guidance as to how the courts should approach such claims when brought by infant children.
