Workers face pension headaches


Workers in the maritime industry could face significant hardship in retirement due to lack of understanding of pensions, it is revealed by pensions and retirement company Ensign. A survey of employees in the shipping and maritime sector reveals that workers are aware of the importance of pensions, ranking pension provision as more important than job satisfaction, workplace environment or flexible working arrangements, when choosing their employer. More than four out of five respondents see the provision of a workplace pension as “very important”.
