Large losses continue to fall
Large shipping losses have declined by more than a third (38 per cent) in the past decade, according to Allianz Global Corporate
& Specialty SE’s (AGCS) “Safety and Shipping Review 2018”. This downward trend continued in 2017. Yet recent events, such
as the collision of the oil tanker Sanchi and the impact of the NotPetya malware on harbour logistics, underline that the
shipping sector is being tested by a number of traditional and emerging risk challenges.
