Avoiding an onboard record-keeping headache key for smooth sailing

Maintaining the traditional handwritten oil record book (ORB) can be a real headache for the people involved in the process. The importance of correctly filling out the traditional ORB has previously been highlighted in Maritime Risk International and, despite the efforts of the industry to ensure adequate training and education for those involved in ORB recording, reported violations are still on the rise.
