Service of notice – date when served or deemed served – implied terms

Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust v Haywood [2018] UKSC 22 (25 April 2018) (Lady Hale, Lord Wilson, Lady Black, Lord Lloyd-Jones and Lord Briggs)

Whilst this is an employment case concerning the date on which a notice to terminate a contract of employment was given, the Court was referred to a number of authorities concerning landlord and tenant notices and what common law principles might be derived from them. The Court was split 3/2 on the issue.
