GALLAGHER ACQUIRES COVERDELL IN CHICAGO

US broking group Arthur J Gallagher & Co has acquired Reassurance Holdings and its Coverdell & Co and Carefree Marketing units – collectively known as Coverdell – a Chicago-based broker, discount medical plan organisation and third-party administrator that provides direct marketing insurance services and membership programmes for US and Canadian financial services institutions. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Coverdell will continue to operate from its current offices and report to Kevin Garvin, head of Gallagher’s North American affinity operations. "Coverdell brings to Gallagher cutting-edge marketing strategies and expertise across multiple distribution channels,” Garvin said.
