Disclosure Initiative

The Board had its initial discussion about developing guidance for it to use when developing and drafting disclosure requirements. It decided it would base all disclosure requirements on one or more specific disclosure objectives. The objectives will explain why the information is useful to the primary users of financial statements, and how they expect to use it. The underlying disclosure requirements will be clearly linked to these objectives.
