FABIO EXPECTED TO BECOME MAJOR HURRICANE IN EASTERN PACIFIC
Tropical storm Fabio has developed off Mexico’s Pacific coast and is expected strengthen into a major hurricane late Monday or early Tuesday, the US National Hurricane Centre has reported. Late Sunday, Fabio was centred around 530 miles south/southwest of Manzanillo, Mexico, moving to the west/northwest at 13 mph with sustained winds of 65 mph. No coastal watches or warnings have been issued and the storm is expected to continue to move to the northwest during the week. Meanwhile, further west, tropical storm Emilia has weakened into a tropical depression and was expected to weaken into a remnant low early Monday.
