Government may face “huge legal challenge” over breast cancer screening failure

The government could face a “huge” legal fight, according to a healthcare lawyer at Leigh Day, after it was revealed that a serious IT-related failure resulted in an estimated 450,000 women aged between 68 and 71 not being invited to their final breast screening since 2009.
