Personal Injury Compensation
In brief
In the context of problems which have been experienced by immigrants and their family members, the claimant who appeared in
person in
R (Lawal) v North Middlesex Hospital, decided on 12 April 2018, unreported, was refused interim relief. It was held that it was impossible on the evidence to
decide whether a Nigerian lady was ordinarily resident in the UK and would therefore be entitled to free NHS medical treatment
for chronic renal failure. There was insufficient evidence that she required urgent treatment, so her application for interim
relief was refused.
