Fire prevention in the dock after Maersk Honam inferno
Industry is being urged to make a collective effort to consider what steps could and should be taken to ensure the new generation of containerships are properly protected from fires, writes Lloyd’s List’s Janet Porter
One month on from a serious fire that broke out on the 15,000 teu Maersk Honam, the containership’s hold continues to burn,
with the vessel not yet able to dock and offload either its damaged or undamaged cargo.
