MARSH SAYS CYBER INSURANCE PRICES ON THE UP…

Prices for cyber insurance rose in the last quarter of 2017 as the industry reckoned with the impact of last year's landmark cyber-attacks, Marsh said. US cyber liability insurance pricing ticked up 0.6% on average following three quarters of decline, despite more capacity coming to market, the broker said. The WannaCry and NotPetya cyber-attacks caused hundreds of millions of dollars of damage to institutions around the world last year. The UK’s National Health Service in particular was badly hit by WannaCry. However, prices could begin to decline as organisations in affected sectors up their investments in cyber security, Marsh said.
