£13.25 million settlement for car crash paralysis
A teenager who was left paralysed when her friend’s car crashed has been awarded £13.25 million in an out-of-court settlement.
She was a passenger in her friend’s car when they steered off the road and into a tree. She suffered a spinal injury, which
left her paralysed from the chest down and requiring 24-hour care for the rest of her life. Liability was not in question
in this case but the settlement amount was strongly contested.
