Survey reveals barriers to work progression for BAME individuals

A new survey of over 1,200 UK employees by the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD), the professional body for HR and people development, has found that 29 per cent of black employees say that discrimination has played a part in a lack of career progression to date, almost three times as many as white British employees. One in five black, Asian and minority ethnic (BAME) employees (20 per cent) said that discrimination had played a part in a lack of career progression to date, compared to just one in ten (11 per cent) white British employees.
