After Equifax: Potential impacts of the forthcoming General Data Protection Regulation

Firms providing regulated activities have to comply with many rules and regulations with the most important being due diligence on their perspective clients before making informed decisions. This has essentially turned the data collected into a currency traded on a daily basis between financial service providers but also with third-party companies (eg Credit Rating Agencies) responsible for collecting and processing the data.
