European Commission to renew glyphosate licence
The European Commission has voted to renew the licence of glyphosate, the world’s most widely used weed-killer, for five years.
In 2016 the European Commission originally proposed to re-authorise the use of glyphosate for the next 15 years. This was
then reduced to ten years due to the reluctance of some countries to support the herbicide’s renewal.
