Gaming techniques in e-learning on the up

Raal Harris, of Videotel, looks at how games offer new opportunities in maritime training

As a keen gamer and having long been an advocate of the use of games in learning, I am delighted that the use of “serious games” and virtual and augmented reality experiences seem to be gaining real traction in maritime e-learning. More and more people are understanding their potential to motivate a new generation of seafarers and to help them achieve learning outcomes in more creative ways.
